Over 400,000 Perm residents took part in the annual national campaign "Days of Protection from Environmental Hazards".

The campaign aims at attracting people to the environmental actions. these are mass environmental campaigns, "green" subbotniks, cleaning the banks of rivers and springs, planting trees, and garbage collection.

According to the Department of Ecology of Perm City Administration, participants of the event "Days of Protection from Environmental Hazardsr" were general educational institutions, organisations of additional education, professional educational institutions, neighborhood associations, NGOs and initiative groups of Perm residents. During the campaign they, as before, took care of the surrounding nature, took "patronage" over certain natural territories, held various environmental events. 426,551 people took part in this event.

In Perm, the regional stage of the All-Russian action "Days of protection from environmental hazards" began with a citywide subbotnik. Special attention was paid to cleaning up the valleys of minoe rivers - Danilikha and Yegoshikha, as well as the eco-route "Trail to Yegoshikha". As a result of subbotniks, more than 180 KAMAZ trucks of garbage were taken to the landfill.

Over 17,000 trees and shrubs were planted in Perm during the action period as part of the landscaping campaign. Perm City Forestry planted 25 thousand seedlings of landscape crops on the territory of city forests. Also, on the territory of the municipal plant nursery more than 3 thousand seedlings of tree species were planted, in the future they will be planted in parks of Perm, as well as along the street and road network.

Recreational facilities are being developed on the territory of Perm city forests. In September, preparations began for the improvement of the Chernyaevsky city forest as part of the Green Ring project. The large-scale project "Green Ring" is being implemented for the 300th anniversary of Perm. It involves the arrangement of entrance groups, paths for pedestrians, joggers and cyclists on the territory of the specially protected natural area "Cheryanyaevsky Forest".

In addition, in September, the renovated Ivinskaya ecological trail was opened in the Motovilikha Administrative District of Perm. The environmental project Walking with an Ecologist, which is popular among residents of the city, attracted 206 people. Eight face-to-face excursions were held in the protected areas "Lipovaya Gora", "Andronovsky Forest", "Chernyaevsky Forest", the ecological route "Trail to Yegoshikha", as well as in the valleys of minor rivers. During the excursions, residents of the city learned about the role of protected areas and minor rivers in maintaining the ecological balance of the city, got acquainted with the animal and plant composition of local biogeocenoses, learned about the current problems of biodiversity conservation in the city. Foresters conducted 55 excursions and 2694 lectures. The main categories of participants in excursions with foresters are pupils of children's educational institutions, students, employees of enterprises.

This year, the participants of the environmental education campaign "Selfie-cross with a little elk" were invited to go for a walk along the ecological trails located in the natural areas of Perm and share their impressions of educational walks. A total of 137 people joined the action.

The traditional environmental campaign "A Spring Birdhouse" gathered more than 30 teams and 250 participants aged 5-7. It was attended by school and preschool institutions, centers of additional education, as well as teams from Solikamsk and Karagay districts of Perm Krai. As a result of the campaign, more than 55 birdhouses were built

On the territory of Perm, within the framework of the XVIII city competition of projects for the organisation of summer labor and educational environmental teams "Ecoleto-2022", three environmental projects have been implemented. They are aimed at organising environmental education and enlightenment of children and adolescents, involving them in environmental activities, and promoting environmental culture. In total, 303 people took part in the competition, 42 environmental and educational events were held in protected areas and in the valleys of minor rivers of Perm.

As part of the XIII city competition for the environmental education of preschool children in Perm "Ekolashka-2021", two projects were implemented. Preschoolers got acquainted with the nature of the city of Perm, participated in the collection of waste paper and landscaping the territory of kindergartens, as well as in environmental quests and quizzes. In total, 265 people took part in the competition, 17 environmental and educational events were held.

One of the central events of this year was the environmental festival "Nature of the City". The successful experience of holding the eco-fest in 2021 made it possible to include it in the event calendar of cultural and sports events planned as part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Perm. The central venue of the eco-fest was the city esplanade, where educational and interactive platforms worked for two days. The installation "Ecopractices" was also set up on the territory of the festival town, demonstrating such ecological practices as "Rotten Reserve", "Honey Meadow", "Reserved Swamp". As part of the business program, 8 discussion platforms were organised on the topics of environmental education and urban greening. More than 500 people took part in the festival's master classes on the esplanade, and 1,200 people took part in an educational campaign on separate waste collection and conscious consumption. About a thousand people took part in each eco-practice. 189 volunteers took part in the volunteer action "Ecovolunteer", 20 trips to 15 natural areas of the city took place. The total number of participants at the end of the event amounted to more than 16 thousand people.
